Understanding Christianity through yard sprinkler system

Understanding Christianity through yard sprinkler system

If you happen to work in yard sprinkler or do some plumbing you encounter something like this there is pipe thread and there's hose thread. The two does not match, you need an adapter, or a part or fitting that has pipe threads and hose threads. Now with the adapter one can connect a pipe with hose.

How does this explain Christianity ? Here's how. God created man but because man sinned or disobeyed God, man got separated from a Holy God.God gave man covenants, laws, prophets but because of man's fall and sin nature, man and God could not reconcile.

God who loved man or the world, knew that man will sin and already has plan from the very beginning. By the way Jesus Christ is also called the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. God sent His Son , fully God and fully man to die for man's sin. Only through Jesus Christ can God forgive man and man can come to God.Jesus Christ became the "adapter" if we try to understand through yard sprinkler system.

Does this makes sense to you? I hope it does.

Christian life is like a flashlight battery

Christian life is like a flashlight and its battery.

Christian life like a flashlight battery is good when it is new. The Bible says life with God is new every morning. Like battery, our Christian life gets exhausted too, we also get tired. In this case, pray and God will renew you, like a rechargeable battery you be recharged or reenergized.

Have you experienced not using a flashlight for a long time ? did you noticed the flashlight won't work. The contacts got corroded and the battery leaked or got discharged. When we do not live our Christian life we encounter what that unused flashlight run into.  But there's hope we can repent and start anew, we can confess our sins and like that flashlight the contacts can be cleaned and with a fresh battery or batteries we once again give light.

Like a flashlight , we also have bulb and switch. We could also have a broken bulb and faulty switch. But God created us and He alone can fix us.

Let our light so shine before men that they may glorify our Father who is in heaven.

Wrath of God

Wrath of God

This is probably one topic that is hard to write a blog on. But the wrath of God is real and it is written in the Bible. The Bible also says that God is slow to anger. Does the Bible contradicts itself ? Let us look at a verse in John 3:36. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

A few days ago my computer protection expired and there is a possibility that my computer will end up in the land fill if i do not renew the protection. Why did I mention this ? It is like our soul without the protection of Jesus we are in danger of sin, attack from the enemy ( Satan) and also that amounts to rejection of God's provision for our sins.

There is a phrase that says ,no Jesus no peace, also know Jesus know peace.

The only way to avoid the wrath of God is to come to Jesus. The Bible does not give any other way.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him. John 14:6.

God's preliminary and final examinations

God's preliminary and final examinations

Students and former students are familiar with examination terms. Biblically these terms are similar to " repent for the kingdom of God is at hand" , Bema judgment seat of Christ and the great white throne judgment  of the God Almighty.

God is merciful and gracious and not willing that any should perish and that all should come to repentance.

We are still in the time or age of grace where we can still settle our accounts or sins by repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is like the Noah's ark, Jesus means He shall save His people from their sins.

Just like in Noah's time , there is time when the ark's door will be closed. For over two thousand years , the message of salvation through Jesus Christ is being proclaimed. This is the heart of the gospel.

If you have not responded to God in accepting Jesus Christ as His gift of pardon, consider it today. Today is the day of salvation.

Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior

This is not an ordinary claim but a strong profession of faith. Jesus Christ said 'why call Me Lord if you do not do what I say" ( Luke 6:46). Same thing with calling Him Savior. We call Him Savior because we believe He saved us from our sins.

This profession will go with us till eternity. This reminds me a brother in Christ told me not to over analyze or intellectualize what we read in the Bible but accept them with a faith of a child.

I believe this is what the Bible reveal about Jesus Christ and our relationship with Him. This bond will go stronger and stronger as we continue to abide in Him and His words , with the Holy Spirit helping us.

How important things are preserved

How important things are preserved

I was sorting out the paper works that I accumulated through the years that my mind got focused on what are important and what are to be disposed. Let me invite you to consider what are important in our lives. Let us start , our birth certificate, school transcripts, diplomas, marriage certificate, citizenships, passports, social security numbers, bank account numbers, certificate of employment, contracts, proofs of  insurance ,certificate of deposits, title deeds, receipts, etc.

Have you noticed most of the above are recorded on paper or on some recording office whether it is public or private office. Have you noticed that these can be destroyed ? Perhaps you are wondering what's the point, I seem to give more problems than solution.

Here is the point. All the important things mentioned have limitations , they maybe good only for our life on earth. I am talking about eternity. First I believe the story of God and man are preserved in the Holy Bible. Aha you may say the Holy Bible is on paper too. But let me go on.

Jesus when He was tempted by satan, Jesus used the Scriptures saying it is written. Jesus as the Bible described Him, is also the Word, or the Word who became flesh or the Incarnate Word.

God is the most important of all and He offers eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life. How did God preserved this? Looks like the answer is at the cross, the bloody rugged cross. Jesus was nailed to the cross to purchase our pardon from sins and death. He was removed from the cross and placed on a tomb. But He resurrected form the dead.

So how are important things  preserved ? They are preserved in an empty bloody rugged cross and empty tomb. Here our salvation is sealed.

Jesus died once and for all, so we look forward to our redemption when Christ returns. Are you ready ?

Which treasure to keep

Which treasure to keep

To students, working people, and retired people, let us take quick look at this ? To students I hope you finish what you desired to study. To working people I hope you get what you are working for. To retired people , like me, I hope we enjoy what we worked for and enjoy your retirement.

Treasure is something we cherish like medals, awards, trophies, achievements ,friends, memories, pictures, books, antiques, family, church. As we know when we die we will leave those treasures. The treasures we have will not keep us, maybe others will remember us for say one to 50 years or so, I do not know.

So which treasure do we keep ? According to the Bible , Jesus said I will never leave you or forsake you. Hebrews 13:5. I believe this , so...

I will keep Jesus, how about you ?

A short blog on giving

A short blog on giving

The title of this blog could have been the power of giving but somebody is already using that. Yesterday when I wrote about wrong love and right love blog, I realized behind right love or true love is giving. Our Lord Jesus Christ said in John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.  Comment: As we see in history and the Bible, Jesus gave His life for our salvation. This is also the theme of John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I realized that within the pages of the Bible are many passages on giving.I have to admit that in the past I heard and spoke about giving but I did not really know about it till lately. In short, giving is easy to say but hard to do. Meanwhile the Bible teach that our giving be in secret.

Let us discover and practice this truth.

Wrong love and right love

Wrong love and right love

Perhaps you are wondering why i mentioned wrong love before right love. Here's why, I thought i have a very good idea on the meaning of love, that today while eating my lunch I was thinking of love. I asked myself what is love. ? I love God, my wife and my friends and neighbors.. Then I asked why ? my answer shocked me. First my love for God is mostly due to the promises in the Bible like salvation, blessings, protection etc. Same thing with my wife I love her mostly for affection and caring that I got and get.

I am not going to keep you in suspense, but right love is what we can give also not what we can get only. What can we give to God ? Of course God got everything but we can give Him our love for who He is and not only for what we can get or receive from Him.

Let me pause here and meditate some more. Let us offer our thanks and appreciation for who our God is. And let us give Him our love.

Halleluia! Praise the Lord !!!

Where are we going ?

Where are we going ?

The Bible also tell us what is going to happen in the future but silent on the time when things will happen but signs are given to warn us. We are told to watch and pray. Jesus told His disciples not to worry about tomorrow or the future. At this point, i hope we agree that watching and worrying are two different things, example, whale watching is different from whale eating us.

Here are things that we see in the news and internet. Weather is getting strange, stronger storms appear to be happening. China and India are rising in the east (industrially). Are they what the Bible says the kings of the east prophesied in the end times ? Knowledge and travel have increased as prophesied by the prophet Daniel. Because of computer technology, things appear to be happening fast, faster than the eyes can blink. Of course we hear about the Isis.

I will let you decide whether the future is rosy or gloomy for you, but as for me as Christian, I will stay closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. I will watch for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said occupy till He comes or keep busy. Let us make sure Jesus knows us by repenting of our sins and praying, obeying and loving Him. Don't forget our neighbors , watch for opportunities to tell them about Jesus.
