Psalm 127:1

Psalm 127:1

Before we go to Psalm 127:1 let me share something. There is something in man that is fascinating. Man can build and has build superstructures like bridges, skyscrapers, coliseums, churches, cathedrals, bunkers, tunnels, cities, etc.  Mesmerized I went to our city library and borrowed about building structures. Still enchanted I wanted to have my own copy of the books I borrowed, but the prices of books could add up, so I looked for used books in the internet. In a few months I was able to collect  my own small library.

Being a Christian , I also read the Bible regularly. Soon seems competition for my time is building up , my time and space for the Bible and my focus on building stuffs. On my research for building, comes also finding why buildings fall.

Then while I was reading my Bible, my mind started to wander , stealing my time to focus on building.  Our God is a Jealous God. He will not allow competition so He reminded me of Psalm 127:1.

Psalm 127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.

Question : What is the lesson here ? Does that mean, men should not build ? No, man can still build but let us not forget the LORD.

How to deal with fear

How to deal with fear

Modern man has plenty of fears. Fear of bankruptcy, accident, loneliness, rejection, death, losing love ones, being fired or losing job, fear of being late etc. I am not exempt from fear. I still have fears.

But how do we deal with fears. Pretend they are not there ? Tell ourselves not to fear ? It is just imagination ?

Whether our fears are real or imaginary,my way to handle them is by prayer and prayer to God through Jesus Christ.

What Catholics and Protestants can do together.

This morning something came to mind about what Catholics and Protestants can do
together without giving in to the other side but I believe it still pleases God and blesses
the doer. I would like to tell them now but the suspense will be lost. But before I tell it ,
I would like the readers to think about it or anything that Catholics and Protestants
can do together .

So share your thoughts and I will share mine later perhaps today or tomorrow.

As promised here is my suggestion, Catholics and Protestants can do something together.

We all can read the book of Psalms, one Psalm a day at least. Everyone can still do what

they used to do (hopefully good ones). We still have a choice of which Psalm to read, but

read at least one Psalm a day.

Planning for 2014.

Planning for 2014

Every good and successful plan starts with God. Why ? Because God knows everything. He created the heavens and the earth. How do we begin with God ? In this world we know the world calls on different Gods or gods.

If you believe your God has been good to you then keep coming to Him. By the way I hope we have the same God.

By the way, I am a Christian and I believe in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

If you have some questions about God and about your life, and do not have anybody to ask, pray direct to God honestly and He will direct your path.Ask earnestly.

2013 is almost gone.

2013 is almost gone

How will we remember 2013 ? The Catholic church had a new pope. US government (part of it) was shut down. Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel passed away, also Paul Crouch of Trinity Broadcasting Network.Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) devastated Tacloban, Leyte and the resulting worldwide outpouring of help. Tensions in the Middle East. Continuing  rise of China as supplier of the whole world. The passing away of President Mandela of South Africa.

To me as a Christian , I thought that Jesus will be coming this year but I guess not but the year is not over. But in the coming year 2014 again I will be waiting for Jesus.

This is what I can remember for now, how about you ?

What I believe Jesus does not see.

What I believe Jesus does not see.

Jesus does not see the color of our skin, the car we drive or not drive, how big or small our church building, how big or small our treasures are but Jesus looks at our hearts.  Jesus knows our thoughts and the things we 've done in secret.

Jesus saw my wicked heart and asked me " would you like a new heart and a new spirit ?" and I said "Yes Lord".

The One true Church

The One true Church

Perhaps the blog title provokes  a second look from readers. With the existing churches we have now, this title is far from reality in human eye. But is there really the One true Church ? I believe there is and the True God is the One who knows.

I look at churches like colleges or universities with graduates of many kinds. But we know it is not enough to be graduates but  have to be certified or licensed to practice their professions by taking some board or bar examinations.

When we reach the end of our lives we will meet our Creator, who will either accept us or reject us. So what do we do now ? Examine ourselves if we are in the faith. Let us be prepared for that final examination.
